Phones for Food Recycling |

Currently, many old cell phones are discarded as normal waste. Cell phones contain many lethal toxins which are harmful to the environment, and without proper disposal methods these toxins are released in to the environment. StudentPhones has decided to do something about this.
StudentPhones has entered into a partnership with The Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB), and their Phones for Food program, with the goal of establishing a successful cell phone recycling program on University Campuses and Travel CUTS/Voyages Campus location across Canada.

The Phones for Food program is unique in that it has two outstanding benefits. Firstly, all phones recycled in the program that are of value are sold to companies that reuse old cell phones, and the profit from this goes to local Food Banks all across Canada. Secondly, phones that are of no value are sent to a Canadian recycling plant where, they are properly recycled. Every phone that is placed in the Phones-for-Food/StudentPhones yellow box is in some way recycled or reused; nothing goes to waste.
StudentPhones is excited to use its unique position as a University Campus cell phone dealer, to help promote and coordinate this program with Student Unions across Canada and through our partnership with Travel CUTS/Voyages Campus locations.
How can I recycle my cell phone to help my local food bank?
All participating locations will have a yellow drop box, prominently on display. Simply drop your old phone in the box and StudentPhones and the CAFB will ensure that the rest is taken care of.
